The Prime Minister is set to inaugurate the Chenab Bridge, recognized as the highest railway bridge globally, standing at an impressive height of 359 meters. This engineering feat symbolizes India's ambition to emerge as a developed nation by 2047. In preparation for this significant event, which includes the launch of the Vande Bharat train service linking Kashmir to Kanyakumari on June 6, 2025, a meeting was convened by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhawan in Srinagar.
Key officials present at the meeting included Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat, ADGP Armed Anand Jain, and various other senior civil and police administrators from Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Reasi, and Udhampur.
During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized the importance of community involvement and encouraged citizens to attend the inauguration in large numbers to make it a memorable occasion.
The Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link, spanning 272 kilometers, is one of India's most ambitious infrastructure projects, designed to provide year-round access to the Kashmir Valley.
